JURASSIC ARK – ROCK LAYERS FORM FAST – LINEAR STRATA MACHINE REPORT 4 © Copyright John Mackay September 2018.
KIDS AND EVERYBODY FASCINATED as we put our new strata machine through its paces before a bumper crowd at the Jurassic Ark open day at the start of September … brilliantly captured by photographer Justin Taylor.
Top picture shows Joseph Hubbard demonstrating to some 400 people what the machine does, while Clem Grieger (kneeling over tub) assists with his innovative improvement of a Venturi pump to produce constant flow and remove any influence of human activity on layer formation.
Doctor Diane Eager (below) records the first test results of constant flow in our strata machine. The strata below showing alternating black and white sand layers formed (1) from left to right and (2) simultaneously and (3) not the bottom layer first. Layers shown formed in 2 minutes.
As we have previously stated, the major fallacy in interpreting rock layers is that the bottom one is oldest because it got there first, and so any creatures found in that layer lived and died long before the ones in the top layer, so any differenced in the creatures is because of millions of years of evolution. The simple observation that rock layers form sideways demolishes the whole basis of evolution so don’t expect our experiments to be all that popular.
Note what happened when we changed the level/speed of the water… the sediment layers not only eroded but started to grow in the reverse direction … Geos note the reverse cross bedding as a result … so the water was going from left to right, but the sediment layer was growing from right to left.
Talk about ruining the geology text book stories on reading rock layers.
Excavating through the layers show they go from side to side, show forming a gully by water flow or forced erosion reveals a Grand Canyon phenomenon, in which all the layers did exactly what my old Professor of Geology said at Queensland University: “I’m sorry lads, but the layers in the Grand Canyon get old sideways!” Regrettably he had no explanation and never pursued it. Now we know exactly why – it didn’t take time, it just took a totally different process than the one in the text books.
