But these rocks are also the original Jurassic, from which all others are named. As we keep telling people, Jurassic does not refer to an age of rock, but to the original rocks in the Jura mountains of Germany. Even the concept of Jurassic was invented by a Creationist (Alexander von Humbolt) who sailed around the globe on his famous geographic expeditions and thought about what concept he should use to label similar formations in the new world. His concept was these are just like the rocks in the Jura mountains, which eventually became the word “Jurassic”. Nothing to do with evolution. Nothing to do with millions of years!

We may only preach in Germany every couple of years, but we always make sure we get to famous areas like Solnhofen, Eichstadt and Mulheim, and some of the fossils we’ve collected and brought back are fabulous (see right). What creatures have we dug up here? an Aussie Araucaria pine tree branch and One cuttlefish. Yes, you read that correctly. Australian trees are not unique because they’ve evolved downunder. They are unique because they died out everywhere else. Cuttlefish still live in the oceans, but they don’t swim amongst pine trees. So when you find dry land pine trees mixed with deep sea cuttlefish, again you have to think about Noah’s Flood and God’s judgement upon the planet. And that’s the real issue!
People do not want to bring God’s authority and the truth of God’s Word into their academic thinking. Just remember you will not be judged by the academics. They will prove to have been irrelevant. Your judgement will be by the Word of Jesus Christ, the Creator, Redeemer, Saviour, Lord and Coming Judge.
